About the work

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a holistic healing modality specializing in nervous system regulation, trauma resolution, and the release of chronic patterns of stress. BCST  supports clients at every layer of the PEMSER levels: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, energetic, and relational.

A BCST session is conducted with the client lying comfortably on a massage table, face up and fully clothed, while the practitioner moves through a series of  gentle, non-invasive holds around their body.

What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

It works with multi-layered patterns of stress and trauma by facilitating balance, augmenting the expression of potency (vitality) and primary respiration (the breath-like expansion and contraction observed in all tissue) within the client’s system. With enhanced balance, stronger potency, and clearer primary respiration, the previously cycling patterns of stress, strain, and trauma can start to resolve.

BCST is also one of the few modalities that is highly proficient at healing stress and trauma by working with the central nervous system (CNS). This enables BCST to improve the functioning of core body systems, such as cardiovascular, endocrine, and digestive systems, not simply your muscles and fascia.

What does BCST do?

  Oftentimes… It looks like nothing.

BCST works through subtle, non-invasive touch, deep listening, energetic attunement, and a relational holding field of unconditional love and acceptance.

Holds will generally last between 10 and 20 minutes, during which time the client will often be encouraged to passively observe what they are feeling on specific levels of their own PEMSER scale.

What does BCST look like?

  Through stillness, patience, and collaboration.

The core principle of BCST is that health and intelligence are inherent to the living system. There is a breath of life that moves through all creation, that we are all a part of. This connection can be buried, but never lost.

The beautiful thing about this work is that we recognize that every traumatic response has an intelligence, and a reason behind it. The first thing we do as practitioners is hold a field of unconditional acceptance, and wait for the system to share its story, and its needs. When the system does respond, we work hand in hand with its intelligence, and empower it to heal/reorganize in ways it would not have been capable of alone.

A BCST practitioner can provide deep healing by giving the body’s inherent intelligence the space and opportunity to reorganize its system towards balance.
